从2009年起，赴美读高中的中国留学生人数直线上升，2011年超过韩国成为美国高中留学生第一大生源国。过去10年里，在美国公立和私立中学里持学生签证的中国留学生数量增长了60多倍，从2003至2004学年的433人，增长到2012至2013学年的26919人。而据了解，前50名美高每年从中国只招收5-10名学生，而各校平均中国申请人数达到200-300份。这让美国高中变得比美国优秀大学录取还要难。

 

　　美国高中留学要托福成绩吗？对美国高中留学申请普遍而言，美国高中留学托福成绩只有少数顶尖高中需要TOEFL，其他的只要SLEP成绩就可以申请。此外申请美国高中需要托福成绩，11-15周岁的学生申请美国高中需要参加托福初级考试TOEFL Junior，15周岁以上的中学生申请美国高中参加托福或雅思考试。对于SSAT不是必须的，但是要申请排名前100的中学，是需要参加的。

 

　　2012年6月初中托福TOEFL Junior已正式取代SLEP成为美国高中入学英语考试。美国高中申请TOEFL是由美国教育测验服务社(ETS)举办的英语能力考试，全名为“检定非英语为母语者的英语能力考试”，中文音译为“托福”。TOEFL有三种，分别是： pbt—paper based test 纸考 677， cbt—computer based test 机考 300， ibt—internet based test 网考 120， 新托福满分是120分。TOEFL考试的有效期为两年，是从考试日期开始计算的。例如：2003年1月18日参加考试，这次考试成绩的有效期是从2003年1月18日到2005年1月18日。

 

　　与以往不同的是，初中托福TOEFL Junior考试通过互联网进行，考试采取机考形式，考试的时间和各部分试题数目都是固定的。该考试不采用计算机出题的方式，即题目难度与上一题回答是否准确无关。改革后的托福测试更注重对应试者综合能力的测试以及不同语境下的理解能力的考察，难度上来说是加大的。美国的高中，尤其较为知名的私立高中，针对国际留学生的申请，一般都需要具备较高的托福分数。在此必须指出的是，初中托福TOEFL Juniorkaoshikaoshkaoshi的分数有效期为两年，即从考试日期开始计算。美国的法律体制和中国有很多不同，比如醉酒驾车，以前在国内受到的惩罚就很轻。但在美国“醉酒驾车”被认为是一种“道德罪行”。根据美国的法律规定，外籍人士如果在入境的五年内触犯过一次“道德罪行”，或在入境后共触犯过两次“道德罪行”，就可以被递解出境。小张就是在美国连续两次醉酒驾车，最后在续签时导致拒签，最终没有办法完成学业。

对此，专家建议，留学生一定要了解并遵守美国的法律法规，不要我行我素、一意孤行。

 

第三类：语言及学习能力较差

据介绍，“无语言双录取”是指针对达到学术要求却没有语言成绩的学生，海外院校通过对他平时成绩、综合能力的评定，来确定学生是否具备了本科入学的条件，一旦合格，学校将直接发放“语言+本科”的双录取通知书。

通常情况下，“双录取”的录取形式有两种：一种是录取学校发出两份录取通知书，一份是该校语言中心的录取通知书，另一份是该校本科或硕士的有条件录取信；另一种是录取学校的本科发一份带有附加条件的专业录取通知书。无论采用哪种形式，学生入学后，都是先进入语言中心学习英语，语言过关后，无需另行申请，可以直接进入大学进入专业学习。

对于国内应届生来说，“双录取”可以节省时间成本。如果是刚毕业的学生想在托福或雅思考试中获得好成绩，前期的准备复习时间至少需要3个月。这样就错过了申请截止日期，去美国留学的时间要耽误半年以上。

而通过双录取项目，可以先去美国读语言课程，一般情况，半年的时间足可以通过语言课程，为适应美国的学习生活做好前期准备。但这为一些语言基础较差、学习能力不是很强的学生开了方便之门，很多学生和家长不顾这一现实，想尽一切办法去了美国。但是到了美国后，语言却迟迟过不了关，而据了解，语言课程的签证一般为半年或是一年，如果在这段时间内读不出来也将很难再获得续签。There are many differences between the legal system of the United States and China, such as drunk driving, which used to be punished lightly at home.
